My next group were originally called The Darling Sisters and signed to Colpix Records. The members were Veronica Bennett, her sister Estelle and a cousin, Nedra Talley.
In 1963, the group would leave Colpix Records and join Phil Spector’s Philles Records and his “Wall of Sound.”
Since Veronica “Ronnie,” Bennett, formed the group they changed the name to The Ronettes.
Ronnie would marry Phil Spector, who would become very possessive and controlling. So much after a while, he would not allow her to leave the house or record.
Ronnie eventually divorced him.
Here are the Ronettes with their biggest hit with Phil Spector “Be My Baby.”
