Dance With Me – Peter Brown

Who remembers Madonna’s hit “Material Girl?” The next artist was one of the co-writers of that song.
Peter Brown was very popular in his own rights back in the 1970s. Being a bit of a recording enthusiast he began to experiment with reel to reel in his bedroom and recorded his first hit on the Black charts, “Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me.” The song did not only do well on the Black charts it also crossed over to Billboards Top 100 chart.
His next hit did even better and made it to number eight on the Top 100 chart.
Let’s listen Peter Brown with “Dance With Me.” Those who know of Betty Wright, “Clean Up Woman,” listen for her voice in the background.

  1. Hello.
Wow this brings back some memories. Now I was very young when this came out but I know we listened to this song and many other great disco and funk music as I was growing up. The singers and writers of this time were amazing and put out some very great hits. Thank you for sharing this with us.

    1. Thanks for commenting Melissa. Yes the music was exceptional during the late 1970s and 1980s. We seem to hear hit after hit.
