Devil’s Gun – CJ & Company

Does anyone remember Studio 54? The New York nightclub of the stars in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Although my next artists did not last very long on the Dance scene, their biggest hit was the first song played at the opening of Studio 54, in 1977.
CJ & Company was a group from Detroit, that combined Detroit Soul with a Dance beat to create their sound. The group was the idea of Dennis Coffey, who was one of Detroit’s top guitar session men.
“Devil’s Gun,” was CJ & Company’s biggest hit reaching number Two on the R&B charts in 1977. The group would disband in 1979.
Here is CJ & Company with “Devil’s Gun.”
