Hang On In There Baby – Johnny Bristol

Well, we have come to the last selection for this “Soulful Sunday.”
As I was writing up the notes for each of the selections this week I was definitely transported back in time to some of the concerts and dances I had the opportunity to attend during that moment in time when there was optimism among the young people of the time that we could all be friends.
My last song was written and recorded by Johnny Bristol, a son of North Carolina (NC). Although an NC native is musical career started in Detroit, Michigan at Motown Records where he was mostly known for the songs he wrote and produced.
He wrote songs for the likes of Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, David Ruffin, Junior Walker & The All Stars. He even became part of the Gordy family when he married Iris Gordy.
He would leave Motown and sign with MGM Records and it was there where he had is first major hit as a solo artist.
Let us go out with Johnny Bristol with “Hang On In There Baby.”
Well, that is it folks with my journey down memory lane on this 100 Remembrance Day. Take care and see you back here next Sunday to listen to some more R&B, Soul, Funk and Quiet Storm music of the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80 and 90s when you could let the music speak for you.
