Love (Makes Me Do Foolish Things) – Martha & The Vandellas

Members of two groups eventually became Martha & The Vandellas.
Rosalind Ashford, Annette Beard and Gloria Williams were members of a group called The Del-Phis. Martha Reeves was a member of two groups, The Fascinations and The Sabre-ettes.
Martha joined the Del-Phis when another member left.
It was while singing back up for other Motown stars, especially Marvin Gaye that Barry Gordy heard the group and liked what he heard. He signed them to a contract.
Gloria Williams was the lead singer at the time. She envisioned that stardom would be hectic, so she decided to leave the group and that is how Martha became the lead singer. The group also changed its name to Martha & The Vandellas.
Let’s listen to Martha & The Vandellas with “Love (Makes Me Do Foolish Things).”
