Love Won’t Let Me Wait – Major Harris

The R&B artist Major Harris died in 2012, at the age of 65, but before that, he had performed as a solo act and a member of The Delfonics, who I consider one of the groups that never really got their dues.
Before we get ahead of our selves, we should go back and recognize that Major Harris, not to be confused with the football player, came from a musical family that goes all the way back to Vaudeville. His brother Joe Jefferson, who was also a musician wqrote several of The Spinners’ hits.
Major Harris during his career was a member of several groups before the Delfonics. Groups like Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, and the Jamals, who scored a hit with “A Little Bit Of Soap.”
As a solo artist, Major Harris had one major hit, which is our next featured song, “Love Won’t Let Me Wait.”
