With You – Tony Terry

Back in 1989/1990, New Jack Swing artists were popping up all over the R&B and Soul charts. My next artist was one of those. In 1964, Tony Terry was born Antonio “Tony,” Terry in Washington D.C. After graduating from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, he performed background vocals for the Sweet Sensations a Pop group and the Boogie Boys a Hip Hop group.
In 1987, he signed with Epic Records and it was his first single that brought him to my attention. “She’s Fly,” peaked at Number four on the R&B charts. The second song that was popular in the Dance clubs was of his debut album, “Lovey Dovey.”
Let’s listen to Tony Terry and another big hit “With You.”
